Leonard R. Higdon
Leonard Higdon was raised in Hawaii and moved to Colorado in 1985 to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Leonard graduated from Fort Lewis in 1991, having earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 1997. He is licensed to practice before all Colorado courts, the United States District Court, and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Leonard is an active member of the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court, a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association Family Law Section, Arapahoe County Bar Association, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, and a volunteer for the Arapahoe County Bar Association's Pro Se clinic.
Outside of his career in the law, Leonard enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family. His "other life" is one spent in the serious practice and study of traditional shotokan karate. He holds a fifth degree black belt with the prestigious Japan Karate Association and International Shotokan Karate association and many years of experience as both national competitor, and instructor. This practice and experience has translated well into his demeanor, judgment, and conduct in the legal arena.
